陆岑安轻轻咳嗽了一声，缓缓开口：

陆岑安此事关系到史密斯先生的家事和隐私，各位不必深究，那么下面就请各位董事开始对皮特先生任职投票吧。

许菀之Without further ado as this is a matter of family and privacy for Mr. Smith, the directors will now proceed to vote on Mr. Pitt's appointment.

会议室里已经是一片震惊，各位董事交头接耳。此时，会议室的门开了。

史密斯小姐走了进来，她今日光明正大地走到人前，就是想要彻底解决这件事。

史密斯小姐Hello, directors, Father, and Mr. Lu and Miss Xu.（各位董事好，父亲，还有陆先生和许小姐。）

此时，菀之才注意到，今天来的董事只有3位，而史密斯工厂实际确有6位董事，而皮特先生如果想留任则需要董事会按股权占比分配三分之二的票数通过。

史密斯小姐出现的那一刻，许菀之才意识到昨天夜里有多少人一夜无眠。

她回头看了看陆岑安，却看到他一脸淡然，仿佛早料到了一切。

现在这三位董事分别占比2%，7%和13%，史密斯先生手上持股47%，按照去尾的算法，以及每位董事至少持有一票的原则来看，其他三位董事没人各有一票，而史密斯先生手持4票。

而皮特的留任需要三分之二多数通过，那么也就是说，只要有以为董事投反对票，皮特先生就无法留任了。

菀之不由地为皮特捏了一把汗。

史密斯先生深深地望着自己的女儿，一句话也没说。史密斯小姐同样看着她的父亲。

一时间气氛凝固了起来。

此时，陆岑安终于开口了：

陆岑安好吧，那我们就开始投票吧。

陆岑安关于皮特先生是否继续留任史密斯棉纱厂总经理一职，现在董事会共有5位董事，已全部出席，本次投票三分之二多数票为7票，各位董事分别按占股分配为：史密斯先生4票，史密斯小姐3票，霍顿先生1票，夏洛克先生1票，平卡姆先生1票。下面投票开始。

许菀之还沉浸在思考之中，陆岑安拱了拱她的胳膊肘。

许菀之As for whether Mr. Pitt will continue to serve as the general manager of Smith cotton yarn factory, there are now five directors on the board of directors, all of whom have attended.
