However, though Sky came across as the perfect person to Lily, this was an incomplete picture. In her primary school year four, she met a few ‘friends’ that she could never forget. It was Sindy, Arina and Vannie. They become friends but these girls all told her that they accidentally heard their friends spreading rumours about Sky and her.

She started to dislike them and avoid them. This continued till the end of year four when Arina left their primary school. Sky was a bit sad but nothing changed much except that Sindy and Sky’s friendship grew. However, a few months later she and Sindy had a huge argument and decided not to talk to each other again. At that moment Sky’s heart sank but later she understood that everyone at some stage has to lose something to gain better things.

Sky felt regretful or reluctant to give up her friendship but she knew she didn’t have the power to fix their friendship at that time. She always wished she could have a long-lasting friendship that would shape good memories.

That night, I had a dream. I dreamt of the moments when I was younger. I realised suddenly what would make the best goal and give me passion to achieve. I dreamed of my mother dancing beautifully in her plain blue dress. I wished I could be as pretty as her! The second thing I dreamt about was my grandma. She seemed so pale. I saw her borrowing money from a lot of people and she seemed to fail. She even had to work when I went to school, pick me up and do the housework for me. She had no new clothes for a long time and some of my new clothes were what she got from people who didn’t need them. It became clear: my goals will be to lose weight and get better grades to receive a university scholarship.

The next day when Sky arrived, I told her about my goals but I had no plan yet. She gave me the plan she made the previous night on exercising. It was just what I needed. But there was one more problem that bothered me: my terror at returning to school. Then, Sky did something that I will never forget in delight and sensation. She filled in the formalities for home school and decided to be my personal coach. Sky even comforted me by saying that her grades are very good and she had the material for homeschooling.

We soon started the plan! Sky’s plan was like drinking a cup of lemon juice in the morning. Exercising for about three and a half hours every single day and stretching for one hour. She always encouraged me when I was tired and she did the whole plan with me. For studies, she taught me what I was behind in and studied with me when I finally caught up. Over the next six months, Sky helped me lose 100 pounds (45 kg) and now I’m 52kg with a height of 165cm. My studies also improved so that I rose from the bottom of the class to the second highest in the whole year group just behind Sky. I got the scholarship to my dream school and everything seemed better. I decided to wear the blue dress mama usually wears to the graduation party. Even though the blue dress I wore is only a plain dress, I caught everyone's attention. Before then I was always invisible to them. Finally, I had achieved my goals. I know that I will face a lot of challenges in the future but I believe that I will always be able to solve them.

Now when I think back, I have so much to be thankful for in this lovely world. I have changed a lot since then and now I’m proud of myself. I can finally see that my future will be worth something.
